🔁 $USDT is coming back to Bitcoin. Public launch planned for November 28.

📌 The facts (Utexo announcement, Oct. 22, 2026)
• Utexo has opened “Utexo Mint”: verified exchanges, wallets, and market makers can already test it on Signet, Bitcoin’s test network
• Phase 1, on Nov. 28: USDT on Bitcoin via the RGB protocol, accessible through partner wallets and exchanges
• Phase 2, planned for Q1 2027: expansion to the Lightning Network, enabling near-instant payments
• This isn’t being launched by Tether, but by Utexo. The token is a “bridged” version backed by USDT0 (according to The Defiant, locked on Arbitrum)
• A quick reminder: USDT originated on Bitcoin in 2014, via Omni

🧠 How it works, simply
RGB is a layer that lets you issue tokens on top of Bitcoin. Transfer details are private by default, with disclosure possible for compliance. Lightning is Bitcoin’s “express network”: payments in seconds for a few cents.

👤 Imagine Mariama (a fictional character), a seamstress in Conakry, being paid by a client in the diaspora. If her Lightning wallet could one day accept digital dollars too, she could receive a stable amount without being affected by $BTC fluctuations.

⚖️ A caveat: nothing is public yet. Compatible wallets, liquidity, and a real way to cash out into the local currency will be needed. And a bridge adds another technical risk.
