Franklin Templeton has made a pretty interesting move.
The established asset manager, with $1.7 trillion under management,
filed a Form 8-A with the SEC on October 22
for two new ETFs to be listed on Nasdaq.
They’re expected to take effect on October 27.
One is called FBEQ, with an S&P 500-style profile.
The other is called FIBT, with a Nasdaq-100-style profile.
The structure is 95% U.S. stocks + 5% Bitcoin.
But the real twist is how the dividends work.
With traditional dividend reinvestment,
your dividends are used to buy more shares of the same company.
These two ETFs take every dividend payment
and use it to buy Bitcoin instead.
It’s like turning the dividend-generating machines of hundreds of U.S.-listed companies
into an automatic dollar-cost-averaging pipeline for BTC.
Each quarter, the Bitcoin allocation is reset to 4.5%,
with a hard cap of 20% to keep the crypto portion from taking over during a bull market.
The expense ratio is just 0.09%.
You don’t need to open an exchange account or manage a wallet.
Just buy a U.S. stock ETF,
and your dividends automatically give you exposure to BTC.
Traditional finance isn’t asking whether you want to buy crypto anymore.
It’s simply slipping crypto into your dividends.
Now that’s what real infiltration looks like 💧
