We’re excited to announce that AirGap now fully supports ckBTC, the Bitcoin-pegged token on the unstoppable Internet Computer Protocol.

In our previous "AirGap integrates Internet Computer Protocol (ICP)" blog post, we announced that we would be adding support for ckBTC, a Bitcoin-pegged token on ICP, which we are happy to announce , AirGap now fully supports ckBTC.
ckBTC is an interesting development as it allows users to hold and trade Bitcoin on the ICP network, offering faster transaction speeds and lower fees compared to the Bitcoin network, for those looking to benefit from the advantages of the ICP network This can make it an extremely attractive option for users who benefit while still holding and transacting with Bitcoin.

How to add ckBTC in AirGap
Download AirGap Vault and Wallet, the links below are available for iOS and Android, and generate or import your mnemonic phrase.
Click the Confirm button.
Set a label for your wallet and click the Confirm button, scroll down and select ckBTC, then select the Done button.
Select the new ckBTC wallet you just created.
Click the AirGap Wallet button to sync Vault with Wallet, choose the method you are using, App Sync for single device method and QR Scan for two device method, in this guide we used App Switching.
Click on the account newly synced to the wallet.
You have successfully set up AirGap and added ckBTC.
