#股票财报季 Breaking intraday: Trump again says the war will “end soon,” but oil prices couldn’t care less—and BTC has weakened too
I just saw the news: Trump says the Iran war could end soon. Sound familiar? He says this every few days, but this time the market can’t even be bothered to pretend it believes him.
Brent crude still surged to $115 intraday, hitting a five-month high. Why? An oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz was just hit by an unidentified flying object, and Iran is clearly trying to push oil prices higher ahead of the midterm elections. Trump says the U.S. has “control of the strait,” but in reality, ships don’t dare go through it. The TACO trade? It’s not working this time, because the other side isn’t playing along.
Now look at U.S. stocks and BTC. The Nasdaq already plunged 2.6% yesterday, and the market hasn’t finished digesting fears over AI capital spending.
BTC is stuck just above $81,000. The 50-day moving average at 80,878 is barely holding support, RSI is only 47, and MACD is negative. The rebound is weak; it looks more like the market is waiting for direction. Those ETF inflows haven’t translated into buying, and the price is still grinding around in the $80,000–$87,000 range.
As for direction, don’t be fooled by Trump’s words. If oil prices don’t come down, inflation expectations won’t come down either—and high-beta assets like AI stocks and BTC will keep struggling. $CL $SOXL $BTC
