FET ($FET ) is the token of the Fetch.ai ecosystem and the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI). The project’s thesis is that AI agents, services, and computing infrastructure will create sustained demand for the token.
The main conflict is that the product exists, but the scale of its impact on demand has not been proven. There is insufficient public data on the number of launches, trading volumes, and fees collected by Agent Launch. There are also few confirmed burn transactions. Meanwhile, the token is trading about 94.6% below its all-time high.
This analysis is for those who want to understand how the ecosystem works and see which data is confirmed and which claims remain unverified.
Alliance membership
ASI was formed as an alliance of decentralized AI projects: Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and Ocean Protocol. CUDOS joined in 2024.
Ocean Protocol announced its departure on October 9, 2025. Current alliance materials list Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and CUDOS. The ticker for the traded asset remains FET; there is no separate new token on the market that has replaced it.
Technology
Fetch Network. A network with validators and delegation. The token is used for fees, staking, and payments for some agent and computing services.
Agentverse. Infrastructure for registering, developing, and discovering AI agents. Fetch.ai materials cite 2.7 million agents. These are registered agents, not active ones: a test or dormant agent does not generate paid transactions. The number of paid requests, active developers, and revenue are more useful for evaluation.
Agent Launch. An AI agent tokenization tool with bonding-curve trading and an automatic transition to a DEX. Parameters according to the documentation in the Fetch.ai repository:
agent token deployment: 120 FET;
trading fee paid to the protocol treasury: 2%;
liquidity threshold for transition to a DEX: 30,000 FET;
main network: BNB Smart Chain, a third-party blockchain.
The last point matters: part of the agent economy operates outside Fetch Network, so this activity cannot automatically be counted as direct demand for the network. The documentation does not explain what happens to the LP position after the transition to a DEX, so claims about LP burning should be verified on-chain.
Tokenomics
Max supply: about 2.714 billion FET.
Circulating supply: about 2.31 billion FET.
Difference: about 403 million FET.
This difference cannot be called insiders’ free supply. Such a conclusion requires data on allocations, unlock conditions, and address balances. Max supply, total supply, circulating supply, and tokens actually available for sale are different metrics, and aggregators calculate them differently.
Calendar event. CoinGecko lists an AGIX Migration on October 28, 2026, involving about 2.43 million FET. This is an aggregator listing. The mechanics (a single unlock or claiming on request) and likelihood of a sale have not been confirmed.
Burning (Earn & Burn). The program was announced in December 2024. On-chain data shows two burns:
5,000,000 FET — January 10, 2025;
109,350 FET — November 5, 2025.
A total of 5,109,350 FET, and that was in the past. An independent analysis updated on October 19, 2026, found no buyback and burn activity in the 90-day window. Therefore, claims that “FET is deflationary” and that “burns exceed issuance” are not confirmed facts.
Staking. Rewards are paid in FET, and an approximately 21-day unbonding period applies after delegation is removed. Yield depends on the validator and network parameters; there is no universal rate. Rewards can increase supply, so staking is not the same as burning.
Market metrics
Snapshot from around October 23, 2026. Figures vary across aggregators.
Price: $0.186–0.189.
Market cap: about $432 million.
FDV: about $507 million.
24-hour volume: about $77–90 million.
Rank: approximately #95–122, depending on the aggregator.
ATH: $3.45–3.47 (March 28, 2024), down about 94.6% from that level.
Daily volume is approximately 18–21% of market cap. The market is liquid, but these figures do not show how much of the trading is driven by organic demand. The distance from the ATH describes past performance and does not mean the asset is undervalued.
The backstory
Facts
Ocean Protocol announced its departure from the alliance on October 9, 2025.
According to Bubblemaps, Ocean-linked addresses converted about 661 million OCEAN into 286 million FET.
The same reports say about 160 million FET was transferred to Binance and about 109 million FET to GSR Markets. The tokens were valued at about $120 million at the prices at the time.
The dispute remains subject to litigation. No final ruling or confirmed return of the tokens has been found.
Rumors and insider claims
The claim that a significant portion of the tokens was sold on the market comes from statements by Fetch.ai and related plaintiffs. Ocean disputes it. Status: not confirmed by a court.
A transfer to an exchange or market maker does not prove a sale on the open market, and $120 million is an estimate based on prices at the time, not proceeds.
Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
Existing infrastructure: Fetch Network and tools for AI agents.
Several roles for the token: fees, staking, service payments, and Agent Launch.
Transparent Agent Launch parameters in a public repository.
Limited max supply (about 2.714 billion FET).
Liquid market: daily volume is about 18–21% of market cap.
Weaknesses
No public data confirms the scale of Agent Launch fees.
Earn & Burn does not prove net deflation: two burns are known, and no burn activity was found in the 90-day window.
Part of the agent economy operates on a third-party blockchain.
Migration balances (AGIX, about 2.43 million FET) require verification against the contract.
Unresolved dispute with Ocean involving 286 million FET: legal and reputational risk.
The “2.7 million agents” metric does not show actual activity.
