UNI has gained another new path to capture value

Yesterday, Uniswap launched a new feature that I think is worth more attention than an ordinary product update.

In the past, when analyzing UNI, the main things to look at were Uniswap’s own trading volume, protocol revenue, and how much of the fees ultimately went toward token burns.

This time is different.

Uniswap v4 can now integrate liquidity from other DEXs. When users trade through it, even if they use external liquidity, those trades may still generate protocol fees for Uniswap and contribute to UNI burns.

This means Uniswap may not have to rely solely on liquidity in its own pools to generate revenue in the future.

If it can attract more users to trade through its platform, its potential for value capture could also expand.

But it’s too early to treat this as a major positive.

Launching a feature is one thing; how much additional trading volume and revenue it actually brings is another.

For UNI, what matters more to me isn’t how many features have been added, but how much real trading activity ultimately translates into value for the token.

That’s what will be worth monitoring and verifying over time.
