#Square Before You Copy a Trader, Check When the Trade Was Actually Closed.
One thing I noticed while looking at these trading posts is that people often focus on the profit and forget to check the details.
Look at this screenshot. It shows a closed short position with nearly 198% profit, but the closing time is October 16, 2026. The post saying “This is about to explode” can create a completely different impression if you don't check the actual trade data.
Some traders share their old positions and display impressive profits. Their copy trading services or private group memberships may also be expensive. But showing a profitable trade from the past is not the same as providing a trade you can enter right now.
So, please check three things before following anyone:
When did they enter the trade?
At what price did they close it?
Is their current position and actual setup visible?
If someone only shows you old profitable trades without a verifiable current entry, stop and think before following them.
A trade that was profitable yesterday doesn't mean it will be profitable for you today. The market doesn't care about somebody else's PNL screenshot.
Don't copy profits from the past. Understand the setup before risking your own money.
