16 years ago, in 2010

I was tightening screws at an electronics factory in Foshan, Guangdong.

Back then, I had no money. Every day, I’d mooch meals off the factory girls’ meal cards. In return, I carried water up to the third floor for them to bathe.

I smoked Daqianmen cigarettes that cost 3 yuan a pack—money I had to borrow from the girls at the factory, too.

I lived in the factory dormitory and didn’t have a quilt. I borrowed one from someone else, used half as a mattress and half as a cover, and woke up freezing every night.

At the time, I thought I’d work hard and save 100,000 yuan (my salary was 2,000 yuan a month),

then go back to my hometown, marry a plain-looking but honest woman, buy a 125cc motorcycle, and spend the rest of my life in the countryside.

Sixteen years later, I’m a trading livestreamer on Binance Square. I wouldn’t say I’ve made it,

but I’m still working hard and learning.

Life gives you far more room to make mistakes than you can imagine. Don’t sell yourself short.
