Welcome to the sixth lesson in our learning series! Now that we understand the market life cycle and trader psychology, it’s time to learn the tools we use to analyze the market and make buying and selling decisions based on sound principles rather than random guessing. 📈💡
Market analysis in the world of crypto is divided into two main, complementary schools:
1️⃣ Technical Analysis (TA): 💹
This type of analysis relies on studying historical price movements and trading volume to predict future movements.
* Basic idea: Prices move in trends, and history repeats itself. Price movement reflects all available information.
* Tools used:
* Charts: Such as candlestick charts, to understand price movements.
* Support and resistance levels: To identify potential buying and selling zones.
* Technical indicators: Such as the Relative Strength Index (RSI) or moving averages.
* Price patterns: Such as the head and shoulders pattern or triangles.
2️⃣ Fundamental Analysis (FA): 📰
This type of analysis relies on studying the intrinsic (fair) value of a cryptocurrency and the project behind it.
* Basic idea: If a project's real value is higher than the coin's current price, that means it is "undervalued" and presents a good buying opportunity.
* Aspects it focuses on:
* The Team: Their experience and credibility.
* The project (Use Case): Does it solve a real problem? Is it unique?
* Tokenomics: Coin distribution, total supply, and inflation rate.
* Community: Its size and activity on social media.
* Partnerships and news: Are there strong partnerships or important project updates?
💡 A golden rule for professionals:
Combining technical and fundamental analysis gives you a comprehensive and more accurate perspective: fundamental analysis tells you "what to buy" (a strong project), while technical analysis tells you "when to buy" (the ideal entry point). 🚀💰
