There’s a pretty confusing picture with ETH, and I’ve been watching it for two days now 😅
Prices bounced this morning along with the broader market.
$BTC climbed above 84,500, up about 1.9%.
$ETH also returned to around 2,490.
But the ETF story is completely different.
U.S. spot ETH ETFs
have seen $1.08 billion in net outflows so far in October.
That’s the biggest monthly outflow of 2026,
and the steepest month since last November.
And there are still 8 trading days left this month.
What stings even more is the math:
the $832 million that flowed in with such effort in September
has all been given back in a single month, and then some.
Net inflows for the year are now down to about $485 million.
By comparison, $BTC ETFs have seen only about $67 million in net outflows in October.
On Monday alone, they took in $527 million.
For major coins, institutional attitudes are looking pretty different.
So my take is simple:
don’t rush to read ETH’s price rebound as institutions changing their minds.
ETFs are still seeing outflows, which suggests this rally is being propped up more by spot buyers and short-term money.
For a real turning point, we need to see the outflows stop first.
Even a few consecutive days near zero would matter more than a one-day rally.
What do you think?
Have institutions temporarily given up on ETH, or is this just a rotation after an oversold drop?
