At 1 a.m., $ALT did $8.15 million in one hourly candle: the 0.010 level it had been pinned under for days was swallowed in one bite

Let’s lead with the biggest numbers. The 1-hour candle at 00:00 Beijing time: open 0.00964, close 0.01414, up about 46.7% in an hour, with roughly $8.15 million in volume—about 57 times the previous hour’s roughly $143,000. Just yesterday during the day, it had closed back below 0.010, giving back its gains; by the ledger’s terminology, the “breakout was discounted.” This candle’s close directly invalidated that discount and even cleared the previous breakout level of 0.01107.

The 01:00 candle surged to 0.01562 before pulling back. At the time of writing, spot was around 0.0131 (roughly consistent across Binance, KuCoin, and Gate), up about 31% over 24 hours, with 24-hour spot trading volume around $17.3 million. The pullback after the spike shows that people chasing the rally are already taking a hit. We’ll have to wait for the close to judge the quality of this candle.

Why did it rise? Honestly, I couldn’t find a clear catalyst. The only thing I could find was an unlock of around 240 million tokens scheduled for October 25–26 hanging overhead—that’s a supply risk, not good news. ALT isn’t listed on OKX, and funding rates and open interest aren’t available, so leverage crowding can’t be verified. With a volume explosion and no news, the biggest risk is that it came fast and could disappear just as quickly.

My criteria are simple: if the 1-hour close holds above 0.01107, I’ll consider this breakout still in play. If any 1-hour candle closes back below 0.010, I’ll treat tonight’s big green candle as a false breakout and the whole move as invalidated. Volatility is high in the thin pre-dawn market, so don’t chase a vertical rally. Think through your position size and stop-loss first. This is not investment advice.

Pick a side: where do you think the next 1-hour candle will close—holding above 0.011, or falling back below 0.010?
