David’s Trading Notes

#股票财报季
As mentioned in the previous post, the angle has flattened, so the market is about to turn. The bulls have taken back the lead, as shown by the high-volume breakout above the 2418–32 range. Look to buy on a pullback; have confidence and keep an eye on the trend.

The market’s reaction to bearish news plus the risk of high oil prices says a lot about its strength. Shorting again doesn’t look worthwhile from any angle (P.S. I’d also like to buy some cheap positions on a dip).

I. $ETH Intraday Plan

For today: favor buying dips, with selling rallies as a secondary strategy.

Long|
1) Watch for a pullback to 2420–11. Enter if a bullish engulfing candle appears on the five-minute chart.
2) A place to trim the position could be a major resistance level, or at least a 1:2 risk-reward ratio (Figure 1).

Short|No intraday scalps planned. Two major levels to watch:
1) At 2507, if a bearish candle with a long wick appears on the lower time frame, there may be an opportunity to short.
2) 2619 is strong resistance. Consider placing a limit order to short, with a 1% stop loss (Figure 2).

II. The Psychology of Trading

You need to be bold enough to take a shot not only when the market is moving sideways on a higher time frame after a decline, but also to add aggressively in the direction of the trend when you’re confident the market is trending.

If you think it’ll drop to 800 or rise to 8000, you’re really screwed. Put more diplomatically, you’re betting on a high-probability outcome. If you don’t even dare to take that bet, you’re effectively betting that you’ll definitely lose.
