Welcome to the fourth lesson in our educational series! Now that we’ve learned where cryptocurrencies are traded and how to store them, it’s time to understand what we’re actually trading. Crypto isn’t just one type of asset; it’s divided into major categories, each with its own role and purpose in the market. 📈💡

1️⃣ Bitcoin (BTC): 👑

It’s the first cryptocurrency and the foundation of the crypto world, and is often called “digital gold.”

* Importance: It accounts for the largest share of the entire market’s value and is considered the market’s benchmark and true leader. When Bitcoin moves, other coins are often affected by its direction.

2️⃣ Altcoins: 🌐

A term used for any cryptocurrency that emerged after Bitcoin (such as Ethereum, Solana, and others).

* Features: They are backed by tech projects and real solutions for blockchain applications. They often offer greater profit opportunities (and risks) than Bitcoin due to their smaller market caps.

3️⃣ Stablecoins: 💵

Cryptocurrencies with relatively stable values, usually pegged to the US dollar at a 1:1 ratio (such as USDT and USDC).

* Importance: They serve as the digital “cash” in your wallet. You can use them to exit coins during a downturn, take profits, and enter trades without having to withdraw funds to traditional banks.

💡 Today’s lesson in a nutshell:

Understanding the different types of cryptocurrencies helps you allocate your capital wisely and understand where and why you’re investing, rather than buying projects at random. 🚀💰
