North America has gone from holding back gold ETF demand to leading it.
Global inflows reached 13.7 tonnes in the week ending October 16, more than triple the previous week. North America returned with 7.3 tonnes of buying, while Asia’s demand nearly doubled to 4.7 tonnes. Europe added another 2 tonnes.
A week earlier, European and Asian buying had to absorb North American selling. Now, all three major regions are adding exposure together.
North America’s return, reinforced by stronger Asian demand, gives the third consecutive week of inflows more significance.
