Tomorrow, ZEC’s fate will be decided at a meeting of developers.

The NU7 upgrade’s go/no-go decision is set for tomorrow (10-20), along with finalizing the mainnet activation height, targeted for November 5. The biggest change in this upgrade: block times will be slashed from 75 seconds to 25 seconds ⚡️

Here’s an interesting detail: the token-holder vote has already ended. Of the 2.4 million ZEC cast, 99.9% voted yes—meaning the market has effectively “approved it unanimously” ahead of time. All that’s left is for the development team to go through the motions. The testnet also completed a smooth run on October 4.

The price has already had its say: around $1,160, holding firmly above $1,070. My take is that the proposal is very likely to pass, but tomorrow is a “buy the rumor, sell the news” moment, so chasing the price higher in the short term may not be worth it. If $1,070 doesn’t hold, this thesis is invalidated.

Do you think NU7 will be ZEC’s highlight of the second half of the year, or another case of “good news already priced in”?
