There’s one detail in Sunday evening’s market that’s more worth watching than the price 👀

The perpetual funding rates for $BTC and $ETH are both sitting in the neutral zone today,
hovering around 0.005% to 0.01%.
No one-sided bias.

What does that mean?
After the liquidation flush a few days ago,
leveraged longs haven’t rushed back in,
and shorts haven’t dared to pile on and push prices lower.
Everyone’s waiting, not betting.

Price action backs that up:
BTC is up slightly near 81,700,
while ETH is down slightly near 2,416.
It can’t push higher, but it can’t break down either.
A classic directionless weekend market.

My take is:
When funding rates are neutral, it’s hard for leverage alone to push the market in either direction.
We need spot markets and ETFs to show their hand first.
If funding rates suddenly become heavily one-sided, that’s when to watch out for a squeeze.

This kind of flat market is uncomfortable, but not dangerous.
What do you think will move first next week: funding rates or prices?
