$INJ 's fixed Gas went live on mainnet early this morning. Injective's governance proposal vote ended early Sunday morning Beijing time and passed, after which the team announced the upgrade was live.
INJ is the token used on Injective, a public blockchain focused on financial trading. It's used to pay fees, stake to help secure the network, and participate in governance votes.
The upgrade changes the chain's native trading module. Every action—placing or canceling orders, and depositing to or withdrawing from trading accounts—now has a fixed Gas fee announced in advance.
Previously, traders and integrated applications had to simulate every transaction to estimate its Gas cost. If the estimate was wrong, a transaction could fail due to insufficient Gas. With fixed fees, that step is no longer needed, which should reduce delays and failures.
The team says the fixed fees will apply to RWA and perpetual futures trading, as well as to privacy trading when it launches.
The system has been running on testnet since this summer. In this vote, about 24 million INJ voted in favor, with almost no votes against.
