The “fake breakout” verdict from two days ago has been overturned: $AVA closed above the previous high on heavy volume—this time, the recovery counts

First, my stance: I’m calling this a “confirmed recovery.” What do you think—a genuine recovery, or the faster it rises, the harder it falls?

Let the data speak first:
$AVA was labeled a fake breakout after spiking to 0.3387 on October 15, then closing at 0.2929 on the 1h chart, below 0.30. In the following two days, 0.3207 was the recovery threshold: price closed above it, but volume failed to follow through and the next candle fell back, so confirmation never came. This time is different: last night, the four 1h candles from 20:00 to 23:00 closed at 0.3247 / 0.3209 / 0.3240 / 0.3433, consecutively holding above 0.3207. The 22:00 and 23:00 candles saw about 630,000 / 620,000 USDT in volume—more than four times the volume of most hours in the early evening. The 23:00 candle closed at 0.3433, decisively above the previous high of 0.3387. The 00:00 candle has yet to close, but volume is already about 1.52 million USDT; price has touched 0.3890 and is now around 0.383, up about 37% over 24h. Spot 24h trading volume is about 5.5 million USDT (Binance spot and KuCoin quotes are consistent). Meanwhile, $BTC is around 81,300, down about 0.2% over 24h. The broader market didn’t provide a tailwind—it moved against the trend.

Why is it rising? No clear new catalyst was found today. The existing backdrop is still old news: the AI booking system launched on October 15; the permanent strategic reserve and doubled buybacks were announced on October 13; and the doubled lockup threshold points to locking up 30% of the circulating supply. These are all developments from several days ago, not tonight’s trigger.

A word of caution: AVA is thinly traded, and last night at 22:00 it even printed a flash-crash wick down to 0.2955. From the 24h low of 0.2758 to 0.3890, it has already risen about 41%; chasing it and getting caught in a pullback could mean a double-digit drawdown. $AVA is not listed on OKX, and I couldn’t find funding rates or open interest, so I can’t verify how crowded leveraged positioning is.

From here, I’ll judge it by the closes only: hold above 0.3387 and the recovery is confirmed. First, watch whether it can hold above 0.3890 on a closing basis, then watch the round-number level at 0.40. A close back below 0.3387 would weaken the setup; a drop back below 0.3207 would invalidate the recovery confirmation and put it back in the post-fakeout consolidation category.

Pick one: a genuine recovery on heavy volume, or a low-liquidity spike?
