BlockBeats reports that on October 17, Tesla’s next-generation Roadster made its debut. In the demonstration, the Roadster performed stunts including climbing an inverted slope, flipping in midair, and jumping over a car, using SpaceX cold-gas thrusters and an underbody suction system. Its 0-to-60 mph acceleration takes less than one second, drawing widespread attention.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman quickly congratulated Tesla on X: “The new Roadster looks pretty incredible. Well done, Elon.” Given their long-standing public feud, Altman’s remarks came as quite a surprise to the community. Musk didn’t respond with a direct, enthusiastic thank-you. Instead, replying to jokes in a discussion thread about whether he had “canceled the cancellation of the previous order,” he simply said, “Indeed”—a restrained response with a hint of humor.

The two had already had a public feud over the Roadster. In late 2025, Altman posted that he had reserved the car nearly 7.5 years earlier and still hadn’t received it, demanding a refund of his roughly $50,000 deposit and sharing related emails. Musk responded that the refund had actually been processed quickly, while again bringing up the disputes surrounding OpenAI. This congratulatory message and composed response have prompted renewed speculation about their relationship, but the underlying conflict remains unresolved.
