Seems like I was criticized without being named, but somehow it also feels like I was called out.
The phrase “some people” is a good one. It makes me feel like I’m somehow on the moral back foot. This is exactly the kind of thing about the art of language I’ve never been able to figure out.
But there’s actually a bit of a problem with this logic. By your logic, you can post whatever you want—as long as you like it.
So does that mean I can post whatever I want too? For example, if there’s something I don’t like, can I post about that as well?
I’m a pretty straightforward person: if I like something, I like it; if I don’t, I don’t. (And just because I don’t like something doesn’t mean it’s bad. You might genuinely be a good person, but does that mean it’s not okay to dislike certain good people?)
Are you saying none of you have ever disliked certain “good people” in your lives?
I’m not talking about any specific person here. I mean that some people’s words, thoughts, or behavior might seem perfectly fine according to traditional values, or in the eyes of most people around you, but you still just don’t really like them. Be honest with yourselves—have you really never felt that way?
I’m actually not afraid to argue, and I certainly won’t be intimidated just because you have lots of followers or money. Like you said, I don’t depend on you for a living.
You said you have loads of energy and churn out content like a sow. I really can’t keep up with that—I’m lazy, and if I can lie down, I’d rather not sit up. But I can also be pretty stubborn. Once I get fired up, I can stay online arguing with people at full intensity for days and nights without logging off.
Also, all I said was that I didn’t like it. But then you started making remarks about money and rich people propping others up, which just made me like you even less. I’m not rich, but I’ve met some wealthy people, with all kinds of personalities, from all walks of life—good and bad. Being rich doesn’t mean you’re a good person,
more outstanding than others, or more enlightened,
or that what you say makes more sense than what others say.
Do you agree?
Or is money the only thing you have left to show off?
Or are people not allowed to say they don’t like you?
That’s not right, is it? I’ve always known that it’s impossible for everyone in the world to like me. When people criticize me, I really do reflect on whether I might be in the wrong. I wonder if you do the same.
