The Unitree short position with a 400% return—I’m getting ready to close it. I won’t be following it after this.
I publicly started shorting Unitree Robotics on X on August 20 this year, and have ridden it down from 119 to 63. My return is as high as 400%.
There were countless times in between when people called a bottom—whether saying SPCX had been cut in half and must be near the bottom, or that someone had stepped in to bail it out. I didn’t exit. I stayed firmly short SPCX!
In the past, I also wrote five posts explaining in detail why I’ve kept shorting Unitree Robotics:

I think they’re very useful references. They document in detail my views on robotics, the A-share market, and my understanding and perspective on the market.
Whatever happened along the way, the result is that I was right.
This further confirms that my read on the A-share market is still correct. After all, I’ve actually fought it out in the A-share market. Compared with friends who haven’t traded A-shares and only talk theory, I think I have more credibility.
I don’t plan to hold the position any longer. As I’ve said before, I’ll let everyone know when I open a position and when I close it. At the current price of 60, it’s essentially fallen by half from where I shorted it. My return is 466%, which is more than enough for me. It has reached my target.
I don’t want to follow what happens next. It could keep falling—there’s a good chance of that, because with Tesla’s robots about to come out, Unitree may soon have nothing left to sing about. But someone could also step in to bail it out. Either is possible, but neither has anything to do with me anymore.
Your position determines your perspective. Paying more attention to it from here on has little value for me, so I’m publicly saying that I’m preparing to close my Unitree short position.
Whether you want to close yours or keep holding it is up to you.
