๐Ÿšจ Short-term Bitcoin holders own 4.08M BTC โ€” a hidden risk is looming! ๐Ÿณ
Every wave of new buyers brings renewed hope to the market. But when confidence starts to fade, that same wave can turn into selling pressure.
The supply held by short-term Bitcoin holders has risen to 4.08 million BTC, its highest level since mid-June, according to recent on-chain analysis.
Since July 29, this group has added around 422,000 BTC, an increase of nearly 12%. But the pace of buying has slowed: only around 48,000 BTC was added over the past week.
Hereโ€™s the key detail: many new investors recently bought at prices between $82,000 and $86,000, while the estimated average cost basis for short-term Bitcoin holders is around $74,900.
As Bitcoinโ€™s price has declined, these holdersโ€™ profit margin has narrowed to around 10%. If prices fall further, some traders may rush to protect what remains of their gains โ€” or limit their losses.
My take: The figure of 4.08M BTC doesnโ€™t automatically mean the market is bullish or bearish. It reveals how much Bitcoin is held by relatively new market participants, who may react more quickly to volatility.
