#澳大利亚提议加密交易申报法案
Australia has made the first move: from now on, every crypto transaction there will have to be reported to the tax office.
The draft was released just yesterday. Exchanges will have to report Australian users’ trades, transfers, and asset values to the tax office every quarter, starting July 1, 2027. In 2028, data will also be exchanged with other countries. For now, it’s only a draft, and the public consultation runs until October 28—it’s not yet law.
To be honest, I’m not surprised. A total of 77 jurisdictions around the world have already agreed to adopt this standard, including the UK, Canada, South Korea, and Singapore. Australia is just the first to put the proposal into writing. It’s going to get harder and harder for people in crypto to stay under the radar. For those who follow the rules and pay their taxes, this is actually a good thing—at least the rules are clear.
Who do you think will be next to follow suit?
