A screenshot of a private message was shared in the group chat yesterday: the sender’s profile picture featured the Dogecoin logo, and the message opened with, “Your wallet needs to complete a security check. Once verified, you can claim the community airdrop.” The scam follows a familiar script: first, borrow the official profile picture and tone to gain people’s trust; then lure them away using a domain name that differs from the official site by just one or two letters; and finally, ask them to “hand over their recovery phrase.” The Dogecoin team never privately messages anyone or asks for their seed phrase. Any announcements they have to make are posted on the official website for people to check. Nothing in the message shown in the screenshot matches the official website. #Dogecoin #Web3 $DOGE Crypto asset investments carry significant risks. This article does not constitute investment advice.
