Thailand’s move officially takes effect today 🇹🇭

The SEC’s new rules are now in force.
Local asset managers can finally launch ETFs for $BTC and $ETH ,
with listings and trading directly on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).

Just a heads-up:
Today is when the rules take effect,
not when a bunch of products go on sale.
Asset managers still have to meet requirements for things like staffing, systems, and custody.

The details are fairly restrictive:
Each fund can track only one coin.
At least 80% of its assets, on average, must be invested in the underlying asset.
Custody must be provided by an institution regulated by Thailand’s SEC.
Brokerages can’t lend customers money to buy.
And margin trading and leverage are strictly off the table.

I think this signal is bigger than the products themselves.
Here in Asia, Hong Kong just listed a spot SOL ETF.
Now Thailand has opened up compliant channels for BTC and ETH too.
Retail investors can get crypto exposure through their stock accounts
without having to manage their own wallets and private keys.

But don’t get carried away.
An open channel doesn’t mean less risk.
The volatility is still the same.
Before putting real money in, think carefully about whether you can handle a drawdown.

What do you think—will this expansion of ETFs across Asia
bring genuine new demand, or just another bout of market hype?
