According to ChainCatcher, Decrypt reported that the expected airdrop of Dymension, a modular blockchain network in the Cosmos ecosystem, took place when the main network was launched early Tuesday morning, providing 70 million DYM tokens to early users and specific communities, accounting for 7% of the total supply.
Dymension calls the airdrop a “genesis rolldrop” and is available to more than 1 million unique wallets across a variety of chains and communities, including users on the networks Solana, Celestia, and the Ethereum Extended Network. Certain communities can also participate in the airdrop, including holders of the popular Pudgy Penguins NFT series on Ethereum, and holders of the Mad Lads and Tensorians NFT series on Solana. While more than 1 million wallets were eligible to claim the 700 million airdropped tokens, claims were made in January and only 528,523 wallets ultimately submitted their claims, meaning that about half of eligible users did not claim DYM, which were ultimately redistributed to other users.
Based on the total value of tokens dropped, DYM is currently the second largest token airdrop in 2024. Based on the current price of DYM at $5.199 per unit, the total value of the airdropped tokens is approximately $364 million.
