On October 15, Beijing time, Ripple, the company behind $XRP , announced that its institutional brokerage, Ripple Prime, has launched perpetual swaps for real-world assets. Clients are already trading and settling around the clock across more than 100 reference markets.

$XRP is primarily used for cross-border payments and serves as their bridge between traditional finance and the crypto world.

The announcement said the swaps are executed by Ripple Prime as principal, with prices tracking perpetual contracts listed by Trade.xyz on Hyperliquid. They cover stocks, indices, ETFs, metals, energy, and foreign exchange, and are available on weekends too. Institutions can also use RLUSD as collateral and cross-margin it with other assets, allowing them to adjust their positions even after traditional markets close.
