The numbers are out, and they’re worse than I expected. At 8:30 tonight, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released September’s PPI: up 6.3% year over year, versus expectations of just 5.3%, and up 1.3% month over month—the biggest monthly increase since March 2022.

I just compared it with CPI, and now it makes sense: wholesale prices rose 1.3% in a month, but only 0.6% has reached consumers. That 0.7 percentage-point gap hasn’t made its way out the door yet. Put simply, inflation hasn’t been brought down—it’s still on its way. $ETH fell from 2,452 to 2,344, down 4.35%, while BTC fell just 2.42%. The uglier the data, the harder the most volatile assets get hit first. I called it.

What do you think will happen to that 0.7 percentage-point gap—will middlemen absorb it, or will it show up on supermarket receipts?
