South Korea is set to tighten the rules
The Financial Services Commission just held a meeting
and said it plans to change the rules:
Vulnerability checks will go from once a year
to at least twice a year
This comes after a recent wave of hackers
targeted banks’ backend systems
Some may even have used AI
Previously, those peripheral systems
weren’t on the list of systems subject to mandatory checks
Note that this is still a proposed direction
not a rule that’s already in effect
But the scope is narrowing
For now, I’m treating this as a regulatory signal
and won’t change my position sizing or timing
