The Stellar network where $XLM resides connected to Chainlink price data last night Beijing time. Developers building applications such as lending and perpetual futures can use these price feeds directly.
XLM is Stellar’s native token. The network focuses on cross-border remittances and stablecoin settlement, and transaction fees are paid in XLM.
Stellar already hosts quite a few tokenized funds and bonds. The Stellar Development Foundation says their total value has exceeded $4 billion.
But putting assets on-chain is only the first step. To use them as collateral for loans and calculate liquidation thresholds, smart contracts first need to know their current value—that’s exactly what oracles do.
The launch includes Chainlink Data Feeds and Data Streams. The announcement said that, from the moment they went live, ecosystem applications were already using them to calculate collateral values, loan-to-value ratios, and automated liquidations.
This is also the official launch following Stellar’s earlier participation in the Chainlink Scale program.
