Your next customer might not be a person—it could be an AI.
This isn’t some far-off prediction. AI agents can already search for products, compare prices, and place orders on their own. But most merchants are still “invisible” to them: AI can’t find you, understand what you’re selling, or make a payment.
At a recent event in South Korea, @GOATNetwork CEO @kevinliu spoke specifically about this: how to make merchants visible to AI, how to enable AI to complete purchases, and why Bitcoin is the best option for final settlement behind the scenes.
One of GOAT Network’s core products is GOAT Flow. Put simply, it’s a “shopping channel” built specifically for AI agents, enabling them to discover and understand products and services—and actually complete purchases.
Whether using stablecoins or other payment methods, AI can handle the entire process, from placing an order to making a payment, without human intervention or complex intermediaries. For merchants, this means your products aren’t just for people to browse—they can also be purchased directly by AI.
There’s another interesting data point here. Someone tested dozens of AI models and asked them to choose a long-term store of value. The result: 79% chose Bitcoin, and not one put fiat currency first.
Choosing Bitcoin is just the first step. The real question is: where will AI put that money?
AI can’t call to complain or file an appeal with a human. An account being frozen or a transaction reversed isn’t just an inconvenience for AI—it’s a reason to walk away entirely.
That’s why @GOATNetwork keeps emphasizing the use of cryptography to ensure you can always move your funds back to the Bitcoin mainnet, rather than relying on an operator’s permission.
Put simply, the settlement layer underpinning the AI economy should ideally be something whose rules no one can change at will. Remove the rule-changing parties—companies, foundations, core teams, validator committees—and what’s left is Bitcoin.
@GOATNetwork aims to bring this feature to AI agent shopping and payments: Bitcoin as the anchor underneath, with tools like GOAT Flow on top, enabling AI to discover products, complete payments, and transfer funds across chains.
It’s still early, but the direction is clear: make it usable for AI, accessible to merchants, and backed by Bitcoin underneath. If AI really does start managing its own money and spending it, Bitcoin may be the foundation that’s hardest for any one party to control unilaterally. @GOATNetwork is bringing this idea to life, so it’s worth keeping an eye on.
