On chains outside the Dogecoin mainnet, $DOGE also circulates on each of them. These are mostly cross-chain pegged/wrapped versions: tokens on one chain represent assets on another, theoretically pegged 1:1 to the underlying asset and actually held by a custodian or smart contract (Binance Academy, “What Are Wrapped Tokens?”). The benefit is cross-chain usability; the tradeoff is that three layers of risk come with it: reliance on custodians, contract vulnerabilities, and centralization. When the same name appears across multiple chains, the native version and the pegged version are two different things. NFA.#Dogecoin #Web3 $DOGE
