【Before XRP breaks resistance, ask yourself one question】
An unrealized loss in your account isn’t really a loss—that’s what I’ve been saying for twenty years, and I believe it myself. But watching XRP fall nearly 70% from its high, I’d be lying if I said I felt nothing.
Yesterday, I saw that Ripple had integrated Stripe’s wallet with the XRP Ledger, and AI-powered payments had surpassed 14 million transactions. The news broke, and people started shouting, “The XRP ecosystem is exploding!” The comments section was buzzing. And then? The price kept falling, dropping another 6% in three days.
Here’s my point: good news is good news, but if you don’t understand how it translates into real-world adoption, you have no idea what you’re betting on.
Put simply, the Stripe integration lets software pay for online services directly using XRP and RLUSD. In theory, XRP’s three-second settlement and low fees make it genuinely fast and cheap for enterprise payments. Fourteen million transactions sounds like a lot—but how many were real commercial activity, and how many were generated by arbitrage bots? I haven’t seen anyone seriously break down that number.
The real business case should look like this: the companies that can save on traditional cross-border payment costs by using XRP are the ones that will keep using it. The problem is that this step by Stripe has only opened the door. Whether the businesses on the other side are willing to walk through depends on regulation, compliance costs, and how traditional financial institutions respond.
A 64% drop in valuation is a fact, but that doesn’t mean a rebound is imminent. I’ve seen far too many people who thought “oversold means buy” get wiped out halfway up the hill.
So if you’re watching XRP right now, instead of staring at the price every day, focus on one thing: can Ripple actually get a few major enterprise payment use cases up and running? If it can, a recovery in valuation is only a matter of time. If it can’t, then those 14 million transactions are just a pretty number—and nothing more.
What do you think about this Stripe partnership? Has it really opened the door to enterprise payments, or is it just another concept that “looks great on paper”?
