ETF net inflows hit $176 million in a single day, yet $BTC is still struggling below the 81,500 cost basis.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net inflows of $175.6 million on October 13, after seeing $65.4 million in net outflows on the previous trading day—a $240 million swing.
By fund, Fidelity’s FBTC led with $103 million in inflows, followed by BlackRock’s IBIT with $65.89 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT also brought in $6.67 million. $ETH spot ETFs recorded net inflows of $24.8 million on the same day.
But don’t celebrate just yet: October is still showing net outflows of $276.2 million, while year-to-date net inflows stand at $654.2 million. This looks more like a rebound from earlier oversold conditions.

Institutional money is back, but the price hasn’t followed—that’s the most frustrating part of the current picture. September CPI came in hotter than expected at 3.7%, pushing the odds of an October rate hike from 22% to 49%. Rising Treasury yields and a stronger dollar are the immediate forces weighing on crypto prices. A Sygnum strategist put it plainly: one day of fund flows can’t change the macro headwinds. Bitcoin has no earnings report to prop it up; its price depends entirely on whether new money flows in.
September PPI is due tonight at 20:30, and whether Bitcoin can hold the 81,500 ETF cost basis will likely depend on the numbers: cooler PPI → rate-hike expectations ease and BTC may reclaim the cost basis; another upside surprise → rate-hike bets heat up further, and the cost basis may face a fourth test.
