September CPI comes out tonight at 8:30, and the whole crypto market is waiting for the number.
Oil is hovering around $100, so it’s a given that headline CPI will rise. The market expects around 3.7%. The real thing to watch is core CPI—if that doesn’t cool off, a December rate hike is pretty much inevitable. The 10-year Treasury yield is at 5.2%; you can earn that just by parking your money there, so nobody’s keen to take a risk in crypto.
BTC is at $84,000 right now, and it’s been stuck around here for the past couple of days. My take is that the data will trigger an initial drop. The $82,000 area is the first level to buy into. If it dips below and bounces back, we’re fine; if it can’t hold, this move will have to look for support further down.
Honestly, I hate days like this when everyone’s waiting on data. The market’s dead all day, and there’s nothing you can do.
Before 8:30 tonight, trim your positions a bit. That initial dip is an entry point—don’t panic and run for the exits.#9月cpi来袭原油美债走势如何 $BTC
