The market action today feels a bit tangled—I’ve been watching it for ages 😅
$BTC bounced back to around 83,400, up more than 2% in 24 hours
$ETH was even stronger, climbing back above 2,500 and gaining more than 3%
$216 million in liquidations across the market, with shorts accounting for nearly 60%
It’s clearly a short squeeze driving things

But on the other hand, ETFs are still seeing outflows
U.S. spot BTC ETFs saw $65.4 million in net outflows for the day, all from IBIT
ETH ETFs saw another $85.43 million flow out, marking 10 straight days of outflows

Prices are rising, but institutional products are pulling back
That means ETF buying isn’t behind today’s rally
It’s being propped up by spot buyers stepping in and shorts covering
Honestly, I’m not sure how long this kind of rally can last
Without fresh institutional money coming in, a short squeeze can easily run out of steam once it’s over

The Fear & Greed Index did climb from 57 back to 62, though
Sentiment is heating up faster than the money flow—that’s what makes me most cautious

What do you think?
Is this a real breakout after the shakeout, or just a one-day short squeeze?
