The largest pure-play XRP treasury company just listed on Nasdaq, but XRP fell 12.5%—how did a listing catalyst turn into a “sell” signal?

Evernorth (ticker: XRPN) officially began trading on Nasdaq on Monday. It claims to hold around 473 million XRP, making it the largest publicly listed pure-play XRP treasury company to date, backed by Ripple, Kraken, Pantera, and SBI. Company executives are also scheduled to ring the Nasdaq closing bell today (October 14, U.S. Eastern Time).

But the debut numbers are painful:

1. The closing reference price was set at $1.43, down nearly 40% from $2.36 at the time of the agreement. The market value on the books of its 473 million XRP treasury immediately shrank by about $443 million (from $1.12 billion to $677 million);
2. Before the listing, more than 80% of SPAC public shareholders chose to redeem their shares, taking back about $195 million—a clear vote of no confidence;
3. Shares opened at around $17.09 on the first day, briefly climbed above $19 intraday, then gave back most of their gains;
4. XRP spot fell about 12.5% that same week, sliding to around $1.345, while the 50-day and 200-day moving averages converged into a resistance zone at $1.39–$1.40.

My take: The Achilles’ heel of digital asset treasury (DAT) companies has never been “how many coins they bought”; it’s the price of the coins themselves. XRP fell 40%, and the treasury lost $443 million in value on the spot—making the listing look more like a showcase for buying at the top. Shareholders clearly saw that coming, which is why around 80% redeemed early and locked in their cash. The playbook has been almost identical from MSTR to today’s XRPN: when coin prices rise, treasury companies amplify the gains; when prices fall, they fall even faster. For XRP holders, the real short-term test isn’t XRPN ringing the bell—it’s whether XRP can reclaim the $1.39–$1.40 moving-average zone. If it can’t, the treasury-company story won’t hold up either.
