The CPI could surprise us tomorrow $BTC … No one knows the numbers yet, but maybe Meow does 🚨
90% of traders are busy chasing the next move in $BTC , up or down, but the real question is: What will happen when the CPI is released? And the other 10%? They’re watching the data… and yes, Meow is doing some homework too. 😹
Folks, I gathered September gasoline prices from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) and the American Automobile Association (AAA), used-car data from Manheim, rent estimates from Zillow, and food data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), then compared them with the Cleveland Fed’s nowcast and market expectations.
Here’s what my calculations suggest:
Meow’s CPI forecast:
Headline CPI month over month: +0.50%
Headline CPI year over year: 3.60%
Core CPI month over month: +0.20%
Core CPI year over year: 2.39%
Market expectations:
Headline CPI month over month: around +0.5% to +0.6%
Core CPI month over month: +0.2% to +0.3%
Core CPI year over year: 2.4%–2.5%
Folks, if the actual CPI matches my estimate, headline inflation could come in below the upper end of expectations, while core inflation remains under control.
