🚨 $ETH ALTSEASON INDEX AT A 1-YEAR HIGH, BUT BITCOIN DOMINANCE IS BACK AT 60%. WHO'S LYING?

On October 13, this morning's selloff, HTX data showed BTC dominance jumping to 60.32% as alts fell far harder than Bitcoin. Total altcoin market cap briefly dropped to $1.07T, about 10% below the recent peak. ETH/BTC fell to 0.030, its lowest since August 19, giving back about 11% from the rally top. On Binance, ETH/BTC is down about 1.8% in 24h.

Yet on October 12, CoinMarketCap's Altseason Index hit 66, a one-year high. Both are true. HTX notes the index was carried by a handful of coins like NEAR and ICP, while ETH's share of the market slid from 11.33% to 11.01% in a week.

This isn't a real altseason. Money is chasing a few names while the biggest alt bleeds against BTC. When dominance rises in a selloff, alts are the first thing traders dump. ETH is down about 1.4% on the day, while BTC is up about 0.4%.

What you should do:
- Don't buy random alts because "altseason index is high". Check breadth.
- Watch ETH/BTC 0.030. Losing it means more alt underperformance.
- Be careful with alt leverage into tomorrow's US CPI.

4H chart:
ETH bounced from 2,407 this morning, almost exactly the Oct 8 low of 2,405, but got rejected at 2,538. It sits under the 4H MA20 near 2,516, with the MA50 near 2,557 and MA200 near 2,602 stacked overhead.

Here are the important levels I'm watching:
- Testing: 2,490–2,516
- If defended: 2,538, then 2,557, then 2,579 (Oct 12 high)
- If lost: 2,445, then 2,405–2,407 (double bottom)

Daily chart:
ETH is trapped under the daily MA50 near 2,556 and MA20 near 2,626. The Oct 7 breakdown from 2,700 is still not repaired.

Here are the important levels I'm watching:
- Reclaim zone: 2,556–2,580
- Upside if it flips: 2,626, then 2,700
- Downside steps: 2,405, then 2,300, then 2,140 (daily MA200)

- Daily RSI around 43, weak but not oversold.
- Daily MACD is under its signal line, momentum still pointing down.
