💥 Did you know that on October 13, 2022, the boldest and most “legal” exploit in DeFi history took place—the $114 million Mango Markets hack?

Trader Avraham Eisenberg manipulated the price of the #MNGO token on the Mango Markets platform (the Solana $SOL blockchain), draining $114 million from the protocol. The most interesting part is that he didn’t hide; he openly stated that his actions were a “highly profitable trading strategy” permitted by the code. This later led to his arrest in the U.S. on charges of commodities market fraud.

Initially, in April 2024, a jury found him guilty of wire fraud, commodities fraud, and market manipulation. He faced up to 20 years in prison.

However, in May 2025, federal judge Arun Subramanian set a precedent for the entire crypto world: he completely overturned the jury’s guilty verdict and acquitted Eisenberg in the Mango Markets case.

Despite his acquittal in the crypto case, Abraham Eisenberg is currently being held in a U.S. federal prison (FCI Otisville).

When he was arrested in December 2022, law enforcement seized his digital devices, on which they found more than 1,200 illegal files depicting child sexual abuse (CSAM). He pleaded guilty to this charge, and on May 1, 2025, the court sentenced him to 52 months (4 years and 4 months) in prison, which he is currently serving.
