Can financial products only be subscribed to and redeemed? Binance broke that rule today: RWUSD spot trading is officially live. Hold it to earn interest daily, and place buy and sell orders just like with any regular coin—but when you redeem, you’ll receive USDC, not USDT.

First, what exactly is RWUSD? It’s a yield-bearing product with a floating term that accrues interest daily. Its yield comes from revenue across the Binance ecosystem, and it may also be backed by real-world assets such as U.S. Treasuries. Its value is pegged 1:1 to the stablecoin used to subscribe.

Today at 16:00 (Beijing time), RWUSD/USDT spot trading goes live, along with a zero-fee promotion valid “until further notice.” Convert will also be available for instant swaps within one hour of launch, also with zero fees.

Get started in 3 steps (all within the Binance app):
1. Buy: Search for RWUSD/USDT on Spot and place an order, or use Convert for a one-click swap. No fees during the promotion.
2. Hold: Earn returns that accrue daily. It can also be used as collateral for cross-margin trading (but you can’t borrow crypto against it for now).
3. Redeem: When you no longer want to hold it, redeem it and receive USDC.

Here’s how I see it. This is the first major exchange I’ve seen bring a “yield-bearing product” directly onto the spot market. Previously, products like this could only be subscribed to and redeemed, making it slow to get in and out. Now you can place orders on the spot market, which means a completely different level of liquidity. Zero fees plus the ability to use it as margin collateral—Binance is clearly paving the way for practical use cases. The intention is obvious: to have some stablecoin funds settle into yield-bearing assets.

But let’s keep a cool head. First, the yield is variable, not guaranteed—don’t treat it like a savings account. Second, redemptions are paid in USDC, not USDT, so there’s friction when getting in and out; frequent trading could eat into your returns. Third, on-chain deposits and withdrawals aren’t supported yet, so everything happens on the platform. My take: treat it as a “yield enhancement for stablecoin holdings,” allocate funds accordingly, and don’t use leverage or go all in.
