Economist Peter Schiff said assessing Bitcoin's performance from its beginning is "meaningless" because early gains distort comparisons with more recent returns. Schiff said he typically compares current prices with Bitcoin's 2021 peak and argued that Bitcoin has delivered little return since that peak. Bitcoin has underperformed gold and the S&P 500 since the roughly $69,000 peak on Nov. 10, 2021. Benzinga Pro showed Bitcoin trading at $83,701, down 0.50% over the last 24 hours.
