High Court rules
The more than 60,000 bitcoins in the Zhimin Qian case: the UK High Court has ruled that Chinese law, not English law, applies to ownership claims.
This only determines which country’s law applies; it does not rule on who took the coins.
Around 16,000 victims may recover no more than their principal plus interest, and they may not receive any share of the appreciation.
The ruling doesn’t mean the money is being distributed, so I won’t use it as a reason to speculate on price movements.
