While some debate whether Bitcoinâs correction is over, a major BTC holder reminded the market that real people and huge sums of money are behind the charts.
On October 13, it was reported that a wallet that had been inactive for more than six years moved around 4,582 BTC worth $377.6 million. In March 2020, these coins were valued at approximately $40.8 million. According to Arkham data cited by Lookonchain, the funds were distributed across five addresses. Where they will go next is still unknown. Source: The Block.
What does this mean for the market?
The most interesting thing isnât the amount, but the question: why did the owner decide to move the coins right now?
Perhaps the owner is getting ready to sell. Perhaps theyâre simply changing how the coins are stored or distributing the assets. The transfer alone doesnât prove that the Bitcoin is about to be sold.
At the same time, BTC remains under pressure: the price fell to around $81,200 the previous day, then fluctuated around $83,000. Source: The Block.
My takeaway is simple: I wouldnât make a bearish prediction based solely on one walletâs movement. But these transfers shouldnât be ignored eitherâespecially when the market is looking for direction.
What do you think: is a large holder getting ready to take profits, or is this just a routine BTC transfer?
