Bitcoin rebounded from its morning low of 81,000 to 83,300, narrowing its decline for the day to 0.38%. Ethereum fell 1.59%. But today was a broad reversal day: altcoins fell much more than the broader market. Of the 32 candidates, only two were up, and both were driven by news.
Today, I’m not looking for breakout patterns; I’m only looking for resilience. All three are relative-strength plays, not breakouts.
LINK fell 3.06%, with $31.5 million in trading volume, 1.21 times its average volume, and trading at 88% of its 10-day high. Its intraday low was 12.259, and its current price is 12.953, up 5.66% from the low. Chainlink is the leading oracle provider. It was the least-declining non-news-driven asset today, down just 1.45% over the past three days, with its structure intact.
ZRO fell 3.77%, with $35.1 million in trading volume, 1.90 times its average volume, and trading at 83% of its 10-day high. Its intraday low was 1.974, and its current price is 2.120, up 7.40% from the low. LayerZero enables cross-chain messaging. It’s up 5.72% over the past three days, the largest three-day gain of the three. It fell today even as volume increased, so keep an eye on that. If it continues to fall on rising volume tomorrow, that’s distribution, not rotation.
NEAR fell 8.84%, with $269 million in trading volume, 1.42 times its average volume, and trading at 85% of its 10-day high. Its intraday low was 4.890, and its current price is 5.321, up 8.81% from the low. It had the highest trading volume of all the altcoins, and is up 4.26% over the past three days, also making higher lows. But its 8.84% drop today was the largest of the three, and I don’t think it’s safe right now.
Let me be clear about what I left out. RSR, up 24.12%, and GTC, up 33.54%, were the only two gainers today, and both were driven by news. GTC was listed on South Korea’s Upbit. I couldn’t find any news about RSR. These moves aren’t useful as a reference on a down day. STRK fell 24.90% and is now just 1.50% above its intraday low; its pattern has already broken down. W fell 32.13% after ranking second among yesterday’s top gainers.
My view is straightforward: today was a broad reversal day, so I’m not recommending any breakouts. These three have only shown relative resilience; they are not buy points. The invalidation levels are clear: if LINK falls below 12.259, ZRO below 1.974, or NEAR below 4.890, the resilience thesis is invalidated for that asset. On down days, avoiding losses matters more than making gains.
