October 13, 2026|Today’s market update: Altcoins are falling across the board, and Bitcoin has dropped to around $80,000, giving back almost all of its previous gains.
Guys, the crypto market was awash in red last night, with almost all of the gains erased. $BTC fell to around $81,800, down 2.44% in 24 hours; $ETH dropped to $2,435, a decline of 4.25%. $ENA and $NEAR fell 14.32% and 13.19%, respectively, while $UNI, $ZEC, and $SUI also lost more than 8%. This suggests that funds flowing into high-beta altcoins the previous day are now retreating en masse.
Around $218 million in futures positions were liquidated over the past 24 hours, including $170 million in long positions. The share of Binance accounts holding BTC longs remains close to 60%, and funding rates are still positive, suggesting short-term leverage has yet to be fully flushed out. Meanwhile, spot ETH ETFs have seen outflows for nine consecutive trading days, with a total of $542 million withdrawn last week. There is still a basis for ETH underperforming BTC in terms of fund flows.
The macro environment has offered no support either: The Nasdaq fell 0.4%, while Brent crude rose 1.8% to $106.65. A stronger dollar pushed gold down 0.6% to $4,169. Higher oil prices are stoking inflation expectations while weighing on valuations for tech stocks, crypto, and gold.
Today, watch $81,000 for BTC and $2,410 for ETH. Holding those levels and then reclaiming $84,000 and $2,575 would signal that the rotation is complete; if they continue to break lower, altcoins will remain the main area for reducing exposure. For gold, watch for short-term support at $4,160; reclaiming $4,200 is needed to ease pressure from the dollar. #比特币期权波动率创五年新低 #Sui基金会向DATANetwork投资3000万美元
