$STRK surged 164% in five days, then gave back 27% in two days.

On October 7, it was still hovering around 0.049. On the 8th, a big green candle on surging volume shot it straight up to 0.059, with volume jumping from a few million dollars to $78 million. I thought it was another false breakout, but it kept climbing on the 9th, accelerated on the 10th, and shot straight up to 0.1266 on the 11th. In five days, it went from 0.048 to 0.1266—a 1.6x gain.

And then came today.

It opened at 0.123. The first 4-hour candle dropped to 0.109, the second broke below 0.108, and the third bounced back to 0.108 but couldn't hold. The latest candle plunged straight to 0.09184. Four consecutive 4-hour red candles, each lower than the last. From the high to the low, 27% was wiped out.

A bit about STRK itself. It's StarkNet's native token and a major player in the ZK-Rollup sector. Among Ethereum L2s, it belongs to the more technically ambitious camp, using STARK proofs to scale rather than fraud proofs. Competition in the sector is fierce—zkSync, Scroll, and Polygon zkEVM are all competing for the same users. Token unlocks have always been a pressure point; early holders have a very low cost basis, so when the price rises, some of that supply comes loose.

Chart signals: 0.09184 is the support level hit today. Below that is around 0.089—the upper-wick area of the big green candle on the 10th. If 0.089 doesn't hold either, a retest of the 0.075 area is likely. That's where price moved sideways for four candles between the 9th and 10th.

Market sentiment: This is the first pullback after five days of gains, and panic sellers are exiting. But note that the funding rate is only +0.005%, almost neutral. Longs haven't been piling in aggressively, and shorts aren't mounting a concentrated attack either. A sharp drop alongside a funding rate like this looks more like profit-taking than a cascade triggered by liquidations.

Whale activity: The red candle on the 11th, from 0.123 to 0.108, had a volume of 168 million—the second-highest among the last 30 candles. That suggests someone was selling at the highs, and selling decisively. But volume then declined—104 million, 71 million, 99 million—so selling pressure is easing. This isn't the kind of move where volume keeps rising all the way down.

Price-volume structure: The latest 4-hour volume ratio is 0.72, below the average of the previous 20 candles. Volume is shrinking as the price falls, and that's key. A high-volume breakdown would signal a trend reversal. A low-volume pullback looks more like a shakeout. This move from 0.048 to 0.1266 has retraced to around the 0.382 level at 0.092, not yet the 0.5 level. Structurally, it's still within the normal retracement range.

Candlestick details: The candle at 20:00 on the 11th is worth a close look—it opened at 0.120, rose as high as 0.1266, and closed at 0.123, with a short upper wick and a solid body. That was the bulls' final push. Then, at 00:00 on the 12th, it opened lower at 0.123, and no buyers stepped in. A classic sign that the rally had run out of steam. After that came four consecutive red candles, none with a meaningful lower wick, showing that every bounce was pushed back down.

Nini's plan: Current price: 0.0929. Bearish bias; staying on the sidelines. The first pullback after the sharp rally isn't over yet. If 0.09184 breaks, 0.089 and 0.075 are both potential buying zones. No need to rush into a bottom-fishing trade. Wait for a 4-hour candle with a long lower wick before reassessing. If it moves sideways between 0.093 and 0.105 on declining volume, that could be a second consolidation phase before another push. At this level, watch more and trade less.
