Why would anyone be willing to lock up tokens for years?
Here’s how I understand it: the idea behind the veToken model is to exchange long-term token lockups for voting power and rewards, aligning holders’ interests with the protocol’s long-term development.
veCRV holders can participate in Curve governance votes and vote on how CRV emissions are distributed among different pools.
What I keep in mind: derivative tokens such as cvxCRV can’t be exchanged back for CRV at a 1:1 ratio, so their market price may be lower than CRV’s.
$CRV is Curve’s governance token, and the veToken model first gained popularity through Curve. Currently 0.3682.
