Unitree Robotics’ Wang Xingxing: My biggest mistake in the past was not believing enough in AI
At the opening ceremony of the 26th China International Industry Fair on October 12, Unitree Robotics founder Wang Xingxing shared during a fireside chat that the recent release of GPT-6 had significantly influenced how the embodied intelligence industry is perceived. His team had also deployed it on robots to test them on tasks, with fairly good results. In his view, the embodied intelligence industry is likely to reach a tipping point relatively soon—possibly within just one or two years.

Wang said that for robots to be adopted at scale, challenges around generalization and efficiency still need to be addressed, but these issues will be resolved in the coming years. He also noted, “Personally, my faith in AI is actually growing all the time. The biggest mistake I made over the past decade or so was not believing enough in AI. Even now, many people may not yet be making full use of AI or embracing it.” $AI
