Unichain prepares its migration to OP Enterprise: two key dates

Uniswap Labs announced an infrastructure change for Unichain, its Ethereum Layer 2 network, on October 9. The announced schedule calls for migrating the testnet on October 13 and the mainnet on October 29, 2026. These are planned dates; the announcement does not specify a time.

What’s changing? OP Enterprise will handle sequencer operations, RPC services, monitoring, and incident response. According to Uniswap Labs, the chain ID, contracts, balances, and applications will remain unchanged, including Uniswap v2, v3, and v4 deployments.

The migration prepares for native interoperability between OP Stack networks. It does not confirm that interoperability will be live on October 13 or 29: the announcement proposes asset transfers, starting with ETH, once the feature is available.

The testnet uses test funds; the mainnet handles real value. Unichain will retain its Stage 1 status and permissionless fault proofs. Contract upgrades will remain under Optimism Governance and the Security Council. The new operating model does not eliminate technical or governance risks.

Market snapshot: on Binance Spot, at 02:55 UTC on October 12, UNI was trading at 7.69 USDT (+0.56% over 24 hours) and OP at 0.1414 USDT (−0.77%). These are movements over a rolling window; they do not prove a reaction caused by the announcement. Technical execution will remain key.
